Photographer’s Note

This is another shot taken during my autumn holidays in polish Tatra mountains. Together with my wife we decided to climb Giewont peak that day. It is very special and also very famous mountain with big steel cross at the top. It is so famous that You can usually expect queues to get to the top of it, I will still recommend to get there though. It is special because I climbed it when I was a young kid and I still have great memories about it (and some old b&w photographs). Morning sun and hazy air created visible rays of light here. This photo is stitched from 3 vertical shots and I found it a bit difficult to shoot - against the sun and I didn't have any filters with me. I used 2 different exposures for each shot to keep as much details in the foreground and the sky as possible. I though the title 'Sacred light' will fit well here with the sun shining just above the cross at the top of this very special mountain.
