floating in the wind Photo

Photographer’s Note

The seagulls were barely moving against the gale force wind and like floating forever, they seemed much more at ease than me who had to struggle not to be carried away and trying not to move while taking a photo of their show on top of my head... Almost immobile and silent, too, not calling like they usually do, a sort of exctatic dance ; the wind, on the other hand, was whistling violently !

For those curious about military architecture, a glance through the old door of the bastion against which I was leaning.

che bell'effetto quasi grafico questi gabbiani che volano tutti nella stessa direzione! In questo caso il cielo grigio è un ottimo sfondo.

Hi Cath,

I remember when i saw a movie called "Pearl Harbor". A scene where all Japanese flights flew in the air... its looking like that :) very good shot and i love the Unity of where we humans forgetting most of the time.

Bonsoir, Catherine.
Les oiseaux en photographie m'attirent beaucoup ces derniers temps.
Mais ce qui m'attire aussi (en ce moment précis de l'année), c'est la blancheur et la luminosité : cela vient peut-être du fait qu'il fait gris et qu'il n'y a pas de neige à Paris (comme d'ailleurs dans la plupart des villes de l'Europe). Je t'ai donc fait un WS qui n'est que ma version de ta photo.

Belle photo de cet ensemble d' oiseau en vol, ce coin de bâtiments n' est pas mal pensé, cela meuble le fait que ce groupe d( oiuseaux et ce ciel sont seul dans le ciel, bien sur ce n' est que mon avis de débutant.
Je vous souhaite une bonne et heureuse année 2008, que cette année vous apporte bonheur et prospérité.

i tried the same thing yesterday but could not succeed due to some irrelevant problems. it is always a good idea to look high up into the sky. you never know what kind of a surprize you'll see...

Les mouettes en silhouette, forment des motifs bien sympathiques sur le ciel couvert et me donnent l'impression qu'elles ont été dessinées. Malgré le vent qui te bousculait, la netteté est bonne.

Assez étonnant... On dirait presque que c'est artificiel... Je me dis que ce doit être assez tripant de voir cela de ses yeux... Très bien vu. Poétique, dans un certain sens.

Very well "frozen" sky with the seagulls and just a bit of the wall to balance... it is nice that almost all of them are flying in one direction...

Wonderful imagery moreso because of your astute framing with the house in one corner of the frame & the gulls flying in a diagonal. A departure from your usual style, but the result is excellent! Still in TN I presume!
