Photographers Note
Hello Friends,
Today we present our another old shot taken by good, old, German Praktica, almost 6 years ago. We have never expected that one day we will show it people all over the world on TE;) Its a railway station in Antwerp, which surpriced us with its incredible construction.
Hope you also like it!
-------------------------------------------------------
Antwerpen-Centraal (Antwerp Central) is the name of the main railway station in the Belgian city of Antwerp. The station is operated by the national railway company NMBS.
The original station building was constructed between 1895 and 1905 as a replacement for the original terminus of the Brussels-Mechelen-Antwerp Railway. The stone clad terminus buildings, with a vast dome above the waiting room hall were designed by Louis Delacenserie and the vast (185 metres long and 44 metres high) iron and glass trainshed by Clement van Bogaert. The station is widely regarded as the finest example of railway architecture in Belgium. The viaduct into the station is also a notable structure designed by local architect Jan Van Asperen
Since 1998 large-scale reconstruction work has been under way to convert the station from a terminus to a through station. A new tunnel has been excavated between Berchem station in the south of the city and Antwerpen-Dam station in the north, passing under Central station, with platforms on two underground levels. This will allow HSL 4 and HSL-Zuid high-speed trains to travel through Antwerp Central without the need to turn around (the previous layout obliged Amsterdam-Brussels trains to call only at Berchem or reverse at Central). The station now has four levels and 14 tracks.

Hi Aga and Michal,
I can see now that yours photo experiences and great captures have quite a tradition. It is cleary seen from this capture. Even though it is not perfectly symetrical it has a really good balance. Excellent complexity of lines and structures due to beautiful motive. But I do need to say something which you may not like: I prefer coloured version. It has such a nice colour tone I just love. I can't help it. Hope you don't mind.
Best regards,
Jeri

Witajcie!
Patrzac na ta fotke przypomina mi sie dworzec w Budapeszcie, gdzie bylem dwa razy, po to zeby sprzedac troche badziewia i zarobic na swoja pierwsza gitarke ;) To byly czasy! Studenckie! Bylo , minelo, zostalo tylko wspomnienie... I bardzo klimatyczna Wasza fotka. Dziekuje.

witajcie!
Pozdrawiam

Witajcie!
Typowa konstrukcja dworca z tego okresu. Podobne dworce sa w Dreznie i Lipsku. Ladnie uzupelnia sie wiekowa konstrukcja z nowymi wagonami. Ciekawy kadr i kontrast. Mam ogromny sentyment do Praktici, to byly czsy...
Pozdrawiam

Ostre jak żyleta. W pierwszej chwili myślałem, że to Wrocław. W Belgii byłem ale nie w tym miejsccu. Ależ symetria. A co śmiesznego w tym moim zdjęciu to ja już nie wiem?

Czesc,
interesujacy dokument, fajna architektura dworca i dobre informacje w notce. Troche za mocne wyostrzenie jak dla mnie.

Hi Aga & Michal,
Another great capture with the old Praktica, in whom this railway station and its strong geometric effect play a good role in the composition, with a dramatic and mysterious touch thanks to the B and W.
The POV is very good and gives a perfect perspective.
Great work, and the original color version in WS is very nice too.
Best regards,
Josep

Hi AGA and MICHAL
Good shadow detail, contrast & tonal range in this superb b&w image. I like the diminishing linear perspective. Tfs!

Hello!
This is a great photo, I'm always drawn to good perspective shots. I like the black and white gritty nature of this photo. Nice work.
Best wishes

Hi Aga and Michal, don't know which one of you make that shot but i really like it ! Excellent use of graphical elements into this framing, the BW works very well here even if sharpness gives a little harsh aspect.
Great one
