Photographer’s Note
The Forbidden City, is a major tourist attraction in Beijing, adjacent to Tianamen Square. From Wikitravel:
"Forbidden City (故宫 gugong) (also known as the Palace Museum) get there when the gates open (around 8.30am) if you want to walk through the vast and spectacular courtyards in relative peace. This is truly the spot to appreciate the might and grandeur of the Imperial Chinese court during the height of its power in Ming and Qing dynasties. Despite the transformation of the city around it, the Forbidden City remains mercifully relatively untouched. A few years ago there was a lot of local fuss when a Starbucks coffee shop opened in the Forbidden City, some interpreting this as a return to the bad old days of colonial domination. Despite the fuss it is still there, on an inconspicuous corner, and still serving coffee. Only 2/5 area of the palace is opened, but some places are under restorations and will be opened before 2008."

Hi Chris,
I like the choice of angle giving depth to the image.Good handling of the exposure and the deep base colours are very attractive.May have slightly closed the frame as the structure at back imposes on the bridge.Happy New Year to you!

Hello Chris,
You chose a very well angle we see the forbidden bridge with a very nice perspective.
I like the construction of the bridge and the wall with the white stones and the small green vegetation between the stones.
This gives a very nice composition and colours.
Thanks for sharing.
Best regards,
John.

Nice shot of this famous place. I didn't even know that it had any canals (and therefore I also didn't know that it had any bridges!). Considering how popular the place is it is surprising to see no people in the shot, and I wish there was at least one to give this some more life and a sense of scale. Nice work nevertheless!

Hi Chris,
Nice angled shot to take the bridge sideways ... creates a good depth. The color contrast between the white and red is striking to make the image standout. Well composed! tfs

I like the colour mix here with the so green canal and the red wall. Very nice texture on the bridge itself where the vegetation is popping up.
