Let's try out a sunset...
This one is from Donostia / San Sebastian in the Basque Country.
The city is organized around a lovely bay and in my opinion could easily be compared to Rio, but it is of course much smaller and is best enjoyed on foot. A visit there provides also the opportunity to approach the unique and so mysterious Basque language that does not relate to anything else spoken on this planet.
IS1000 + Epson scanner + minor level adjustments.

Very beautiful color in the picture, good light and reflextion, good contrast.

If it was my picture I would have change somthing, show you on workshop.

Very nice shot here. I agree with Kaj's workshop. The dark forground takes up about a third of the frame and really does not add anything to the photo. I'm nearly inclined to crop the entire foreground to make a flatter perspective, but that's a matter of taste. You still deserve points for the wonderful capture.

I think you should remove the beach from this picture, because it's so dark and doesn't really add anything to the picture. So just crop it up to the water line. Great capture of a beautiful sunset though.

j'ai jete un coup d'oeil dans ta galerie et j'ai choisi en premier cette photo,car je suis une fervante admiratrice de dams nature , coucher , lever de soleil et tout ce qui se passe dans le ciel comme évenement....(a voir mon coucher de soleil), ici je remarque que le cadrage est bon par rapport aux 2 rochers, le soleil un peu trop centre, mais les couleurs reflettées dans la mer sont de toutes beautées...la note du plus sont ces bateaux ancres pour la nuit et leur ombre dessinée ...belle composition...BI

Good atmosphere in this sunset shot, Jean-Yves. Beautiful color setting around the "ball of fire", and the remaining light accentuates the resting boats, the coastal landscape and the people on the beach quite subtly. Nice shot, and I think Kaj's WS shows you how to present it with even more impact.

there are many sea sunset photographs here on TE... but i'll never say too much! I always find pleasant athmosphere in these shots.
this one has nice colours and the transition orange/violet, warm/cold is really nice. great!

J´ai trouvé ton pseudo (pixel terror) et, bien sûr, j´ai decidé d´entrer chez vous et voir votre photos. J´ai choisi ceci mais pas pour qu´il soit culturelment proche de moi, je ne crois pas, même je n´aime pas, le concept pays. Je trouve la compo de cette photo trés intéresant, bien cadre, bien faite. Comme petite critique, bon, peut-être que le noir de la plage, je l´aurais voulu and peut plur noir. Pas grave. J´aime bien votre travail. Merci pour nous lui montrer et pardon por mon français. Felicitacions depuis Madrid.

Hola:)Jean Yves I was looking for photos from Gdańsk in you PF:) and I found it:) San Sebastian. Amaizing city with great history, friends dont understand me why I love this place but you can:) becoz u know that there are the most beautiful sunsets in this region of our country.

Bonsoir Terror!
I'm rather fed up with sunsets, but this one is almost "sunset-perfect".
The photo needs a little more sharpness.

Nice sunset on that beautiful bay.
I had to tell you how amazed I am by your evolution in these 2 years. I see inspiration in your old posts, but these are technically so far from your newer ones...

Jean,

a very nice sunset in a beautiful place. I love the composition with the sunset falling in the middle between the two sides of the bay. The boats on the water add a marine element which I like as well.

Bonjour Jean Ives,

C´est une très jolie photo prise juste avant du coucher du soleil à une belle ville. J´aime bien le couleur orange du soleil (qui donnne une lumière spéciale au ciel) et son réflet sur l´eau calme de la mer. C´est sans doute un instant spécial.
