Dunajec Castle Photo

Photographer’s Note

Niedzica Castle also known as Dunajec Castle, is located in the southernmost part of Poland in Niedzica. It was erected between the years 1320 and 1326 by Rodric from Tyrol on the site of an ancient stronghold surrounded by earthen walls in the Pieniny mountains. The Niedzica Castle stands at an altitude of 566 m, on a hill 300 m upstream from the Dunajec River mouth, measured from the center of the dam on Czorsztyn Lake.

Jest to bez w±tpienia najlepsze zdjêcie jakie widzia³em z tego miejsca. Zamek prezentuje siê tutaj wy¶mienicie! Pogoda wyj±tkowo sprzyja³a, dziêki temu mo¿emy ogl±daæ bardzo plastyczne kolory.

Great composition in a kind of dark setting which only enhance the feeling of looking to a castle build such a long time a go and it still stands....amazing. Great light on the castle walls and the use of a polariser worked very well to get those sky tones even deeper...i realy like it, very good work.

Amazing picture of this castle, Maciej, the light and shadow play on its walls and on the surrounding greenery brings so much volume, as do the fluffy clouds... A classic shot!

Z tamy robione co? Fajne miejsce do fotografowania tego zamku. Efekt też znakomity. Tym razem nie powiem, że Ci bardzo zazdroszczę bo mam w swojej kolekcji bardzo podobne. Tym niemniej, świetna praca.

what a lovely castle, terrific shot! :-) the (polarized) sky with the pretty white puffy clouds is great.
the castle is well placed in the nice sunlight and with "enough" water around it. such a wonderful postcard from Dunajec Castle.

Hi, Maciej. A fairy tale castle in a splendid setting. The castle stands well out against the dramatic sky and is well brought out by the trees that srround it. Your POV shows us very well why this place wa chosen for the castle. It overlooks the river and offers a good view on the surrounding area.

What an incredible shot! This is absolutely superb! Unbelievable!

There is a kind of diffused light which provides a dreamy vision. I can't imagine a better set-up for a castle along the river and with these puffy clouds, it becomes surreal. The light, the colours, the season, everything is in place to create an amazing result.
