Hello,

This time I post a photo from a different POV that includes the terrace used by many photographers in order to photograph the Black Church and the city of Brasov from a higher place. This place is called Warthe and as you can see it suits very well any photographer's needs. I've posted informations about the city and the Black Church in previous postings so I thought it would be better to write a few words about the Black Tower (the one with the weird glass roof - located left from the center of the picture). I've taken the picture two days ago. Hope you like it! For a different framing please see the workshop.

The Black Tower

The tower was built in 1494 on a rock on Starja Hill, near the Blacksmiths' bastion. It has a square shape and it is 9 m high. In 1599 the tower was destroyed by lightning. So, it's got it's name from its walls being blackened by the fire caused by the lightning. Today, it is no longer black.

Recently renovated to it's former glory, with its pyramid shaped roof, the Black Tower houses a museum. There are four floors inside, each reached by a narrow wooden ladder. Each floor has a small display of war related artifacts.

From the top you do get a nice view of the Black Church but you get almost the same view from the iron balcony surrounding the tower.

Sa ma prezint mai intai - sunt prietena lui Filip78ro- ne-am cunoscut la TE meeting la Cheile Gradistei. O sa postez si eu in curand.

Foarte Frmuos. Cata zapada este la Brasov! Unghiul mi se pare excelent, ma face sa gandesc la Niste Sarbatori de Iarna de Poveste.

Nice winter landscape with lovely colours, specially the blue in the cathedral and the yellow in some trees. Beautiful POV including also the snow in the foreground.

Imi place mult mai mult acest POV decit cel din WS, dar, oricum, amindoua fotografiile sint superbe!
O atmosfera placuta de iarna; culori minunate!

It is always difficult to combinde snow, night, and light. Your exposure management is great. the composition and POV also add value.

really spectacular night shot, captured from an excellent high pov. The different artificial lights are very nice and your exposure is perfect. The composition is also great with the use of the terrace, which balances the shot in a good way. Well done!
