Photographer’s Note
The national cemetery outside the Nazi prison camp at Terezin, located about an hour outside of Prague. The cemetery was established in 1945 and gradually filled until 1958. It holds the remains of approximately 10,000 people who died in the prison camp, the Terezin ghetto, and the nearby Litomerice camp, many of whom were originally buried in mass graves. In addition, ashes from nearby crematorium were brought here to be buried.

A very powerful composition. The dark sky adds to gloomy feel and sad history of these places. I love how the cross and the Star of David are positioned.

I saw this once, and was just yesterday discussing the feeling you get in this concentration camp with a friend, pure horror. You did a great job capturing the feeling and the very dramatic sky in the background makes all the difference.

I agree with bartove and richters. The dark, grey clouds, are very in accordance with the the terrible istory of this site. Well composed and good info.
