Summer in Reykjavik Photo

Something rather different from yesterday:-)

Icelanders are very keen on a varied cultural life, and all over the year there is a great amount of events going on, of great quality.

During the short summer, people are so eager to take advantage of it, considering the long winter nights, so there are lots of events going on in the streets, concerts, and so on.

Here was my last day before leaving. I was standing in a long queue for some VAT refund...(last deadline) when this joyful group happened to pass by in one of the old center streets of Reykjavik, with its lovely colourful houses.
I asked the next in line to keep my place and ran out to get a couple of pics. Actually I don't really know what is was about:-) could be many things, what's your guess ?

I put another view in the ws. Not much work done on this, autocontrast/saturation, I had the camera settings on "vivid" and I think it did a rather good job with the bright red...resized, resharpened.

Hi Michele,
This is definitely not Welcome to the Black Parade . Awesome composition in brilliant colors. I'd love to crop a bit on the left (just my preference here) but you have captured the mood superbly.

Tell you what, Michele, this lot make Bjork look normal! Very well spotted and taken. I haven't a clue what's going on but those Scandinavian ex-pats certainy know how to party. Kind regards, Paul.

You captured it well, putting the subject over a red background; the group of people is interesting, but this background enhances it a lot!

Hi Michele,
This is quite a contrast to your B&W posts!!Attractive red and the overall colorful mood here really looks wonderful. I would rather wished to have the full view of the house. Anyways, this is a very attractive shot.
