Photographer’s Note

The impressive ruins of the Beaufort castle, a good image to complete my little Luxembourg map.

It is located near Echternach and the *petite Suisse Luxembourgeoise", area where you can see strange rocky landscapes, but not comparable to Switzerland...

Hi Didier,

I really like those dark tones compositions. I think they enhance the image in a way light coudn't do the same. The reflection here is a great addition and the castle surrounded by the trees just imponent. Very fine and well presented!

Hello Didier,

Yes, I do know the location. My parents live near Liege. I then take my old Land Rover for a spin (an re-fuelling) into Luxembourg. Very nice area, though one has to know the area to find the nice spots, since from the main roads passing through it is mostly farm-land you'll see.
I guess you wanted to make sure the entire reflection of the tree got into the shot, but the foreground is a bit overly dark. Well, I also saw photographs getting darker than expected after resizing. Still a nice take for sure!

Hello c'est encore moi....
Avec un titre pareil, je n'ai pas pu résister! Sais tu que le Beaufort est un fromage de Savoie avec lequel on fait de délicieuses fondues? :o))
Bon OK, ici c'est pas vraiment la version gastronomique, mais la lumière sur le château et les arbres est magnifique. Par contre, l'angle inférieur gauche est tout de même un peu trop sombre à mon goût.

Good shot of the this castle, and a wonderful reflection too. The lighting is very good, although the shadows on the bottom and the left side are quite dark. Nicely done!

un bien beau chateau niché dans la verdure,et bénéficiant d'un étang qui nous offre de superbes reflets.Les couleurs et la lumière sont très belles.Comme dirait Bibi,l'avant-plan à gauche est peut-être un peu trop sombre,mais ne perturbe pas la beauté de la photo.

Nice place, Didier, I know it very well, they sell an incredible home-made Cassis in that castle, really good, I once hiked from Echternach to Beaufort in one day, very beautiful surroundings. The picture is also pleasant although a bit dark on the left, but the reflections of the tree and the castle in the pond are really beautiful.

Un monument qui semble enserré dans la verdure !
J'aime beaucoup le choix du cadrage avec les reflets visibles dans le bas de l'image ! Le coté gauche est un peu sombre. La lumière est par contre très belle sur les pierres de ces ruines !

belle prise de vue du château de Beaufort avec de belles couleurs et une bonne composition de l'image.Les réflections dans l'eau sont magnifiques.Bravo.
