Madrid Vision Photo

Photographer’s Note

This is probably one of the most 'In Yer Face' examples of street photography I've ever encountered and the young woman looks most uncomfortable in my book.....but it was then that the bus passed with Madrid Vision on it and I suddenly realised it was all a set up so that a passing British photographer could create a juxtapositional image which includes the sponsors, Canon - using his 5D of course - the bus promotional slogan and counterpoint it with a local inhabitant - the idea being that he would then go away and publish it on an international photography community to encourage other photographers to visit Madrid, spend money, take photographs and freely promote the city and all it has to offer..........I think!?

....still can't work out how they got the timing on the bus so well..........

There is a spanish writter called Valle-Inclan and he wrote about the distortion mirrors, where you recive a diferent image from yourself... This photo is sort of that I guess. Fantastic timing here Kev.

Absolutely brilliant Kev - come on, own up! How much did the Madrid tourist board pay you for this? Or was it a few nice accessories from Canon? Really can't see how the timing could have been more perfect. Nice one, Roberto

Well, Kev, the timing couldn't have been more perfect :-))) There are so many layers of "vision" present here, but indeed the sudden driving by of the tourbus couldn't have been funnier. No wonder poor woman was feeling a bit at odds with you all... ;-)

I'm not a Canon person, but this is street photography pur-sang. Great timing for sure!!
