Photographer’s Note
I took this shot just outside of Queenstown on the way to Arrowtown, which is part of Otago District .... sorry I forgot the name of this place.
Although the climate conditions in Otago is not as good as in Nelson District, this part of New Zealand produces the best Pinot wines in the country. Some say it is the harsh conditions of the area that gave the pinot wine that award winning taste. If you love wines, NZ has plenty of botique wineries open to the public for wine tasting and dining.

Hello Renier. I am not familiar with NZ wines. Never tasted it before. I would imagine that the weather improves the taste as is the case of Ice Wines. Good shot of this interesting place. The light and colours are excellent. Thanks for sharing.

Hi Renier,
The scenery of this wine farm is superb.....obviously has a sense of history represented by the old plough, and the stone wall provides a rustic look. Your composition is excellent, with first the road, and then the lines of vineyards leading my eye towards the homestead in the background. Well seen and well captured.

Hi renier. Not the N.Z. of my travels. A scene I imagine from New Mexico or Calabria ( the arid hills I mean.) It is an impressive landscape for its contrasts- the green grass in the foreground, the fertile vineyards and green pines and the denuded hills.Nice Pov as we follow the path. Regards/ Klaudio.

It is amazing to see how a so arid region (it seams to be, looking at the background of your picture) can support a so nice winery. I believe that all those nice houses are part of the winery. Are they tourist houses?
Regarding the wine, you are right. The Pinot Noir is simply wonderful. I had the chance of visiting a few wineries in NZ and I have to say that the whites (Chardonnay and Pinot Noir) are top quality.
Top quality is also your picture in all aspects. Well done.

This is so different from the image I have of NZ in my head, and I'm surprised it is the South Island too. The composition is excellent with the road and stone wall used perfectly to lead the eye. There is such a lot of interest in the image, like the narrow rows of vines, the strange contraption on the left, and the houses nestled in the mountains.
The news here in the UK is that NZ's wine industry is all set to capitalise on this year's drought in Oz.

Hi Renier,
In Europe the best known NZ liquid production is... Steinlager so little is known about NZ wines, however having been in Australia I see a certain similarity in the estate setup, in any case quite different from the european one. We can see on your nice image today this view has been taken in autumn, this golden vineyards season is just about to begin up there.

Interesting result Renier this compo filled with so many details of this landscape. Of course the disposition with the road taking us in is well placed and even further underlined by the left hand lower wall. Then the lines of the vineyards, farm details and the moutains in the back - all ending up in a top overall photo work..

Hi Renier.
I was born in Southern France where we have a lot of vineyards, but I've never seen one like this. It seems to grow in a very dry (which is good) and high (what's the heigth of the surrounding mountains?) place. If Pinot is grown there, maybe it gives something that may look like some of our Alsace or specific Burgundy wines??? In any case you picture is really nice and intersting!
