Photographer’s Note
Continuing with my series of the streets of the blue city I bring you today a barber. This one is not outdoors as in the recently posted Barber at Fatehpur Sikri. Still, the shop is quite narrow and the costumers have to wait outside. I wonder if there are too many distractions in the streets for the working barbers...

Hi Ricardo,
A really really nice composition..the two chairs back to back ..expressions..the doors framing..the details..I love it all. I was initially kind of not happy with the guy who has his back to the camera but he gives the kind of a impression of a spectator watching a show and the whole shop is like a play happening...Priceless!!!
Kapil has been convincing me to come with him to Jodhpur(his home town)...I am getting convinced looking at ur images everyday.
Thanks for sharing :)

A wonderful, frozen moment, Ricardo. The characters have been caught in great natural poses. the straight on composition make it look like a stage set. I love the mood, the atmosphere of an Asian backstreet. There is a lot of lovely detail the plastic shoes, the dated pay-phone, the period chair.I could have wished that the distracting bits of the bycycles were not in the foreground, but well seen and well ccaptured.

Hi Ricardo,
Hard to keep up with your pace these days :). Excellent street capture and an interesting one, too. A lot of social activity for a barbershop. Seems like the barbers have caught you though. Regards,

I always love barbershop photos. I like how you framed this one. It's funny how three of them all seem to have noticed you taking their picture, or maybe they are looking at something else. The man with the red shirt contrasts nicely with the cooler blue colors all around.

Ola Ricardo,
A typical Indian barber shop, with man watching adding fun and interest as he seems to be liikong a show! Light is a bit dull, but the scene is interesting... Pity for the bits of cyckes down there but an overall nice picture!

Hola Ricardo,
For me it is the picture of the day. Jodhpur is certainly a place that I shoudl visit again, and your picture is telling me that. The blue city combined with the colors of the people create a symphony of striking colors.
Happy Week-end - a good caress to the cats.

I really like all the interaction you have captured on this one. There are invisible sight lines all over the place. They should have put the curtains down and then it would look like actors on a stage. :D. Like your other recent posts there are lots of wonderful details to see and the quality is excellent. I see the lure of TE is reeling you in again. ;D

hi ricardo,
i wonder if shaving the whole head is a fad in jodhpur as it is now in the whole world. but seeing these clients, it looks that it isn't. anyway, the capture is clear, colors are brilliant and resolution, sharp. i wonder how this looks like without the bicycle "steering wheel", the one in the center, particularly?

Boas cores e contrastes.

Hi Ricardo,
What a place, what a location...jsut perfect. Love those two seats in opposite to each other and the small amount of space they have to work around with. that guy in front (waiting in line?) creates also a nice focal point.
Those curtains over the doors, nice detail, wonder when they use them.
A good photo with lots of interesting details...very good work.

Hi Richardo,
I must say this is something that people learn a lot about the world thru photography. It shows daily life of people from there. A small conner of that place where people come to do haircut. The shop is something that people from the west may find it dirty, but it is actually true from some Asian countries. Technical part of the photo is also nice, especially the symitrical view of the door where you make it the left side is equal to the right side. It does make some graphical view there. Well done.

Hola Ricardo.
Very well composed with the two barber seats back to back, looks like they didn't worry about you taking your shot, it seems that they are in a very interesting chat with the man sitting on the bicycle. Very good colors, POV and sharpness.

Well composed street shot. We see this type of barber shops everywhere in India. Back-to-back chairs, three onlookers and one spectator (apart from you) who appears to like the scene. Well done with the framing, with the shop appearing like a stage where the activity is happening. Very good shot indeed my friend.

PS : Countdown for your new SE Asia trip. Lao is a beautiful place, untouched by commercialism, but a victim of a barbaric secret war which took thousands of lives

Linda.

Gostei bastante! TFS!
