Photographer’s Note

Vrbnik is a Croatian village perched on a rocky outcrop by the Adriatic sea on the east coast of the island of Krk. Originally a walled village, it was established in medieval times. It is known for the local wine it produces, Zlahtina. It has a population of 944 inhabitants (2001), with a total of 1,245 people in the municipality of Vrbnik which includes three other smaller nearby villages.

Places of cultural significance include the Viteziæ library, the gothic Chapel of the Rosary and the Chapel of St. John in the Parish Church of the Assumption, and the collection of ancient manuscripts and Glagolitic documents housed at the parish church.

Here you have had a wonderful, but difficult light but you managed it very well. You caught a very special atmsophere in this photo. This view really is beautiful - for me "the picture of the day"!Greetings from Germany - and have a nice weekend!

Très belles couleurs. Le contraste entre le haut du village encore au soleil et le port déjà à l'ombre est très bien maîtrisé. Le reflet apporte de la lumière à cette zone d'ombre. Je n'aurais pas mis ce cadre marron et j'aurai coupé le petit morceau de plage en bas à droite. Je te propose un WS.
Very beautiful colors. The contrast enters the height of the village still the sun and the port already in the shadow is very well mastered. The reflection throws some light in this zone of shadow. I would not have put this brown frame and I shall have cut the scrap of beach below to the right. I propose you a WS.

I like contrast between dark water and sunlit houses.
Colors of the hill look nice, but sky is too green. I have tried to adjust it in the workshop version.

Cette magnifique photo me rappelle mon voyage en Croatie de cet été. Le village de Vrbnik est particulièrement beau et bien situé.
