Photographer’s Note
Ouro Preto is a colonial city in Minas Gerais.
This is Rua Direita, a street in the center of the city, about 4 blocks long and starts at the main square. Most university student housing is located on this street, each house is called "Republica" and they have each a very pitoresque sign at the door, you can see bottom right of this shot the sign for "Republica Aquarius" and an illegible one in the bottom right corner.
For some reason some students decided to knot their clothes together and hang them as street decoration, just for fun.
It was end of evening, the sky was not completely dark but the sun had already gone and the moon was up there (a star too). You can see the street lamps were on.
I used no flash and no tripod.
I tried to clean some noise present in the sky, but obviously i don´t know how to do it right...applied unsharp mask to clothes, then resized and saved for web.

hi Elena :) I did not think of loundry but prayer flags from the thumbnail..this is a very interesting story and you accompanied it with a good shot..I filtered it thru Neatimage for you but grains was not very important for me in fact..I would have cropped the top building to focus also on the moon..
thanks and have a good weekend :)

This is a quirky, fun shot Elena with a fine note. I think you did remarkably well under the circumstances to capture this image. The noise is hardly noticeable and probably wouldn't have raised comment had you not mentioned it. I appreciate your experimentation with an image that is out of the ordinary, much like your compatriot Isabel is so fond of doing. It adds a bit of spice to TE, which I appreciate. Thanks.
