Photographers Note
From my trip to China, last year at this time, I found this picture where Buddhist Monks started a ceremony in the famous Jade Buddha Temple, a very popular place in Shanghai. It was quite dark inside, therefore I had to boost my ISO setting to 400 , and even then I had a relatively slow speed at 1/3: I was happy to be able to use a tripod.

Merhaba,
Wonderful indoor image with a perfect composition. The rows of monks curving inwards present great visual impact. I also like the tight framing with the Buddha on top and the hand close to the left edge. Really good work! Regards,
Hakan

Hi izzet keribar
It's a remarkable clear and sharp photograph for that shutter speed even with a tripod. Those monks must have been sitting very still.
The colours are really impressive, but its your composition that impresses me the most, the great Buddha looking down at the monks praying below.

Merhaba Izzet,
I remember the Jade Buddha Temple from my visit in 1983. Since China had only recently opened its gates to tourism, on view were only three surviving temples of the Cultural Revolution, and even this place large decimated in its population of monks.
Kardesim Taksim'e yakin Kunt Apartimanida oturuyor. Babam da hayatdayken bir kat üstünde oturuyordu. Kardesimin bir asagisindaki katda da Zeki Keribar vardi. Acaba bir aile veya akraba olabilirmi?
Selam ve sevgiler,

Hi, Izzet,
Beautiful shot with lively colors. Nice pattern with row upon row of monks. Personnally I would have cropped the half mo,k on the left.

Izzet, I'm quite surprised that this is in Shanghai and not somewhere in the Himalaya. This scene reminds me a lot of my trip 1998 to Nepal and Tibet. I saw similar scenes all over Tibet, but the places where extremely dark, didn't have a tripod and I used a conventional film camera that didn't allow me at all to even try something similar to this here.

Great shot of the ceremony, Izzet. Love the yellow tones and the repetition effect of their clothes. Nice inclusion of the face and hands at left side. Be able to use the tripod in such a strong atmosphere was a real bless. Extraordinary image.
All the best,

Excellent documentation Izzet, the absence of tourists (OK maybe I see a few blurry ones at the left edge) makes it a totally authentic depiction of a cultural ceremony.
