Photographers Note
This low exposure photo (despite 1/10 sec. exposure) was taken in the evening, during a walk through Düsseldorf's famous Königsallee. I like here the intersection of arches of the water sprouted by the gargoyle and the bridge. Turned to sephia and lowered the brightness...
The Königsallee (nicknamed "Kö" by the locals) is a boulevard in Düsseldorf, Germany noted for both the canal that runs along the boulevard's center, as well as for the luxury retail shopping venues located along its length.
The Königsallee stretches from Karl-Theodor-Str. to the Landskrone. A variety of exclusive and expensive shops can be found on both sides of the waterway, as well as huge department stores and shopping complexes. The products available range from luxury fur coats to high-end electronics for audiophiles, and the gamut in between. Some of the most reputed jewelry shops, designer labels and galleries have their stores here, such as Cartier, Aigner, Lacoste, Eickhoff, Jil Sander, Benetton, Gucci, Esprit, Laurel, Armani, Chanel, Escada, Hugo Boss, Joop, Kookaï, Prada and many more.
The boulevard was designed by Caspar Anton Huschberger when the area was redeveloped in 1802, and built to replace pre-existing fortifications. It was completed in 1804. The canal which runs through the center of the boulevard is 31m (102 ft) wide and 5m (16 ft) deep. The canal is fed by the Düssel, which was diverted to provide the nececessary water. Two wooden bridges cross the canal. On the suggestion of the landscape architect Maximilian Friedrich Weyhe, trees were planted along the boulevard and the boulevard was given the name "Kastanienallee" ("Chestnut Avenue"). After an incident in 1848, when horse manure was thrown at King Friedrich Wilhelm IV, the road was renamed "Königsallee" ("King's Avenue") as a gesture of goodwill.

Hello Deniz,
I love the colours of this shot and also your carefully framed compo with the bridge perfectly aligned with the photo's border. The spray of water creates a very graphical effect too.

Hi Deniz.
The perfect exposure for your scene. The 1/10 sec worked very good and made the running water to looks very "alive".
Very good choice the placement of gargoyle to the side of your frame.
I like the sepia tones because I think that makes the effect from the falling water stronger.
Very nice work filaraki.

Kostas.

Deniz,
I like the minimalist compo, an,d how it brings dynamics with the good framing of the water falling.
Of course the tones you found in your PP are truly amazing.
Beautiful,

"Hayat
dört şeyle kaimdir, derdi babam
su ve ateş ve toprak.
Ve rüzgâr.
Ona kendimi sonradan ben ekledim
pişirilmiş çamurun zifirî korkusunu
ham yüreğin pütürlerini geçtim
gövdemi âlemlere zerkederek
varoldum kayrasıyla Varedenin
eşref-i mahlûkat
nedir bildim."

Hello #2,
Excellent composition Deniz, with the gargoyle pushed at the limit of the frame. I like the fact that it goes over the rule of thirds, and consequently, its a more "edgy" image.
The water stream stands out with impact against the darker surrounding. Nice and relevant duotone treatment.
Cheers!

Bonjour, cher Deniz,

Hi Deniz!
TE is full of boring photos showing countless fountains all over Europe. This posting is different though due to its framing and the b+w colours. Both are very well chosen.
Regards
Andreas
PS: It was a good decision to de-post yesterdays photo. It was definitely not your greatest work. When I just visited your gallery my intention was to give you 1 point for it, but it was gone already. So I missed the fun to write you a ironical, embarrassing critique. What a pity.

Iyi gormussun, iyi cekmissin. Eline saglik.
