Photographer’s Note
This statue of Price Albert stands in the main square of the Bavarian town of Coburg, which I visited in January 2006. It was a bitterly cold and foggy winter morning.
The German Prince was the husband of Queen Victoria. Before the first world war, the House of Windsor was known as the House of Saxony, Coburg and Gotha (hope I got that correct). A descendent of Queen Victoria still lives in Coburg today.
