Photographer’s Note
Trichy dhobi ghats...
Have you ever felt like the infamous elephant in a porcelain or pottery warehouse? Have you ever felt like the chinaware was looking at you? ...Even laughed at you?
Have you ever looked closely to clay pottery?

Salut Luko

Yes, their grace is hard to match... as is the colour of their saris. Sun has descended upon India with all its brilliance and warmth, and landed on our monitor screen via this shot, Luko. Also, the composition gives justice to their grace, as it is similarly supple with the central placement of two women, which is not easy, let alone in that strong light.
This is really beautiful, for the lack of a better word ;-)

PS The other day I spotted a Sri Lankan Buddhist monk in an orange robe walking in the park. I adore colours (in spite of my ubiquitous bws), and that one was a colour I have never ever even dreamt of, so saturated and brilliant. As if I had been born just then and wondered at the world.

Hi Luko ,
A very balanced composition. Perfectly timed and well positioning of the woman. I like the colour tone also.
Regards.

BINGO !!!
Among half-a-million photos from India on TE alone !!!
To present one that has more meaning for me (Polonaise, that is) than he rest of the collection…?
It's difficult…Very difficult…But… I think, I found it…
For the look on her face…For her animalistic figure right there, on the river shore…Like three thousands years ago her predecessors…Like a slim gazelle on her long legs - she came to the river…And like gazelle with her incredibly curved body - she saw a predator…You, Luko…
And the scent is in the air…
Like thousands years before she was born…The same scent…The same river..
And nothing has been changed… For millenias she is going down to the river shore, and the predators are there…Waiting…
Look at her face, brother Luko…Look at her face…
For that one photograph it was worthy to go to India…
I would go…

Man if you had NOT taken this shot, Luko, no one would forgive you, Axtually I believe even if she had not looled your way you had a nice configuration here. But with the look, well, a huge bonus. Great color (oops, did I say that...?)
BTW I urge anyon who hasn't done so to check out your "women of India" series on pbase - this really sserves to be seen in totality.

i must admit i haven't thought about india that much before seing your photos - or maybe i haven't seen in other images picturing india what i saw in yours ... one can truly see the fascination you look to the world around you and the way you see india is fascinating to me ... as francis very well says, your brilliant pbase gallery featuring the women of india is a must see (and these are only words ... reality is a lot better)!
... the orange here is amazing, the texture and tones of water all toped up by that unique look ... still, this is not the same amazing and beautiful "chinaware" that laughed at you - that was a strong woman perfectly aware of her strenght ... this is a lot more fragile - and hardly aware that maybe you - "the infamous elephant" were just as fragile, too.
beautiful composition - thank you!

Hi Luko,
Special postures, strong colours and intensive look. Simple elements and still they so rarely get together this well.

Once again its the colour that really drives this one for me, such strong vibrancy against a slightly more destaurated background. Also a great look from the woman inviting us into the scene.

Hi Luko. This one is good I think, but not great. The composition is pretty good, but I kind of wish that the front girl wasn't overlapping the clothing the woman in the back is washing. That is pretty minor though. What lets this one down more though is the light, it just doesn't seem appealing to me. I am kinda mixed on the staring into the camera bit; part of me likes it, part doesn't. Good, but not your best at all.
