Photographer’s Note
This is the main square in the center of the East German city Halle an der Saale. The buildings, which are centuries old, are really monumental and it was difficult to get everything in one photo.
The statue with its back turned towards me is that of the great baroque musician Georg-Friedrich Haendel. He was born in Halle and is buried in England.
