Photographer’s Note

This is a sunset scene from Panglao, Bohol from about three years ago. Panglao is famous for its world class diving locations and is home to numerous tourist resorts. I always stay at the pristine Alona Beach whenever I visit.

Wow, fantastic colour in this, which really gets my attention. I like all the subtle tones. The silhoetted trees on the land is perfectly positioned to give a great accent to the sky. Well done!

Hi Danilo. It look as if you used a filter to create the colours of the sunset. But then I look at the bit of blue sky and realize you didn't. A very nice capture of this natural moment in living colours. Good perspective with the strip of water and silhouettes under the beautiful sky. Cheers :-)

I know the sunsets are beautiful and very intense in Philippines (because I've been in Boracai in 81/ 82 for 6 months and every evening, enjoyed the beauty of sunsets) and i like the silhouetted palms which stand out nicely against the beautiful colored sky. The clouds give also a dynamic impact to your image.

Beautiful colours, showing sunsets are not always red orange!
Maybe the colours have to do with this being rainy season...
Excellent composition, where the silhouetted palm trees nicely divide the frame!

Hi Danilo. You know those colors are so good that it almost looks like you shot this on Velvia. It does have a film feel to it as well. The low horizon was perfect to get the maximum effect out of the sky. Very nicely done Danilo!

Strange color for a sunset but it looks beautiful, the impressive clouds add nicely to your shot together with the reflection. Excellent silhouette with the coconut trees in a tropical environment. Good point of view and great composition.
