Photographer’s Note
simitci (simit seller) in Eminonu/Istanbul..
simit is my most favourite turkish food, it is a kind of pastry - a kind of plain bagel with lots of roasted sesame seeds-. mostly sold in the streets, and its only available in my country..(properly done ones i mean, and it should be eaten fresh!)
once i am out of Turkey, my craving starts for a simit!. :(

Hello Evren. It makes me happy to see again a picture from Istanbul to. Very beautifully the vehicle with the Simitci in the foreground. Wonderfully also the lighting effect and the colors. Best regards, Wolfgang.

Bonnard atmosphère...
J'aime bien les teinte de ta photo...
Presque un noir et blanc sur les côtés et cette couleurs rouge prédominante au milieu..

What color, Evren! You must be enjoying your trip back to home.
From your photo it would appear that your M8 is worth the price...I also see you settled for a 24mm Elmarit...terrific choice! I don't know when I will be brave enough to go for one of these. I am afraid of going below 28 mm myself.

Nice atmosphere in this one, Evren - the gently glowing reddish color in the sky is well rendered, and the simit stall makes a good anchor for the scene in the middle of the frame.

Beautiful colors and soft morning contrast, almost HDR like (much better and natural, though : I dislike HDR).
For the few days I've been in Istanbul, simit are more associated to morning walks on Istiklal, on the other side of the Galata bridge...
I've read you bought the 28/1.9 Ultron, How does it compare to the other genuine Leitz lenses? French photo magazine Réponses Photo compared these 2 last months leitz lenses on a M8, it appears that in the short range, the 28/2.8 ASPH (some of the highest marks ever given for a lens) the 35'cron ASPh, in the longer range the 75mm'cron ASPH are the top of the crop.

Splendid shot, Evren, full of atmosphere and those extraordinarily subtle Leica colors. There's a beautiful, nuanced quality to the sky I can't quite describe but it sort of makes the shot.
Bravo!

Hello Evren
HOw are you doing.
I like seeing views of your home country seen through your eyes,
the pinkish hues in the sky add a nice ambiance here, the post is a bit bothersome right at the middle but you couldnt do much about it.
Regards
Daniel

Hi Evren, this is nice. The photo almost looks like a partially desaturated one with most of the color in the middle.
Sweet memories as well, also to the simit, I loved it, and this photo also inspired me to post this one.
Hope you enjoyed your trip to your home country and Europe.
Be well, Rinie
