Photographer’s Note
Standing at the top off Sugarloaf Mountain in Rio de Janeiro and looking back down towards the cable car that we came up on.
At just under 400m in height Sugarloaf mountain rises almost vertically from the edge of the ocean. The small beach in the foreground is called Praia Vermelha and the long, white, curved beach beyond is the famous Copacabana beach. Round the headland in the far distance this becomes Ipanema beach.
The cable car goes up to the summit of Sugarloaf in 2 stages. The first stage goes up to the summit of Morro da Urca, a smaller rock which sits in front of Sugarloaf and then from here you continue up to the big one.
It's a spectacular view isn't it?!

i hope, from the bottom of my heart, you have had the opportunity to see the blue hour exactly there where you took this picture, or upper in the Sugar Loaf... the night falling, the city turning lights on in the hills and everything around blue.
As is, a traditional image, with a very good control of contrasts.
