Photographer’s Note

Double celebration-time today:

* 2 years on TrekEarth and upload no. 350 *

it is time to say "Thank You!" to a lot of people -
the 8458 trekkers that "visited" my profile and photos
until now, left their comments and helped,
the friends i had the chance to meet in person and of course the founder of this wonderful site.

the amazing thing is that is was approached twice for
photos and maybe one of them is used as a model for a figure in a cartoon and the second one is to appear in a children´s book.

ps: of course i had to show another (..boring...*g*) shot from cologne for this occasion.
it shows the cathedral, the Prussian/German Emperor from the House of Hohenzollern Wilhelm I (March 22, 1797 – March 9, 1888) and the Hohenzollernbridge seen from the right side of the rhine.

Hello Thorsten,
Good to visit you, even if it took 2 years. Good on you! A bleak image here, yet imposing and historically spectacular. Good, strong placement of the mounted horse in relation the the Sydney Harbour-like bridge behind him. The black and white tones help to bring out the details in the stonework. Excellent frame, and inclusion of people for height and scale. Good job.

Hi Thorsten,
Congratulations!
Low and wide angle is quite efficient on this one. It gives something new to this well known scene. B&W works well on this one, the scene doen't have too many modern elements.

Fast ein Scherenschnitt zum 2-jährigen ... und dann noch einen Kaiser! ;-)
Du bist zwar keine "Säule" von TE, wie ich es woanders schon gelesen habe, aber jemand, dessen Bilder meistens interessant sind und "well done" - und dass Du ein Foto von Köln zeigst ist ja wohl selbstverständlich ;-)
Es ist zwar abgegriffen (die Worte, die jetzt kommen) - aber trotzdem: Weiter so!

Hi Thor, I've climbed those steps many times when working in Cologne. Crossing from the Hyatt hotel to get a steak in one of the many great restaurants on the other side of the river. Great POV with the statue in the foreground and the Cathedral in back. Excellent B&W too. Regards, Roberto
