Photographer’s Note
is there life on Mars? apart from photographers?
this photo was taken early in evening - you can see the lengthening shadows on the dunes. minor alternations in photoshop - crop, slight alteration in levels, but the colours and saturation are as in original. i have a photo of this same spot taken about an hour before this one - could very well have been a totally different place judging from colours.

The light teal sky is so cold next to the hot sand. I love the added drama of the time of day as well. Surreal.

wonderful......brings back very fond memories of crossing the Sahara by Landrover thru Morocco, Algeria, Niger, Mali and others a number of years ago. Truely stunning territories.

Hi Kristine
Thanks for posting your comment at my site. You have wonderful and some of the most amazing shots of the Sahara. This particular shot is unblemished, the sand looked so fine pure, no trace whatsoever of any human presence. This shot could very well be taken in Mars.... Fantastic work! Love it.

Hi Kristine. Very impressive view, and I like the simplicity. The light and the shadows are fantastic, and your framing of this photo is really nice. I'm not much of a "framer", as I think it's often used to try to make a good photo excellent, but in this rare case, it has actually made me put it in my favorites. Greetings Jens :-)

hey there. i love this desert-ty composition of yours. the long shadows enhance the mood greatly creating a feeling as if the sands were blown away by wind. perfectly captured sensuality of the dune shapes. my compliments and TFS.

I long for deserts, they are so wonderfully abstract...I'm wondering, do you have to be lucky to 'catch' a camel convoy, or it depends on the region? I love those photos!
You were right to mention the red planet, the low light coloured the sand so nicely, like chocolate almost, mmmmmmm!
lovely curves of course
a precious one!

Hi Kristine
I like very much pictures featuring shadows on the dunes just before sunset. The landscape, more complex that usual with all these small hills and valleys, bring additional interest.

Georges
