old lady in Pyrgos Photo

Photographer’s Note

Pyrgos is a charming little village, up on the hills of Santorini. It has many churches, most of them white washed, with blue domes, and it is a pleasure to get lost in a maze of small streets and discover new perspectives at every corner. This old lady was probably going to the church and she was about to start climbing the steep stairs, and saving her breath for a moment .This is how she spotted me and smiled gently.

Santorini is one of the top places that I would like to visit, and this shows why. That incredible white wash on the buildings, soaring towers and domes, and of course the people (who must be very used to people photographing them by now!). Great moment to capture this woman, and the look back is great!

Again a nice photo from the Greek islands.
And not only we see the blue-Greek colour. Also we can see how this colour is everywhere.

probably my favorite from your santorini series (strangely the least recognized).. the blue skies and just a hint of the trademark white and blue architecture giving a clue to the location and contrasting the lady in black... lovely... i wonder if people realize how difficult this must have been to meter...
