Photographer’s Note
Today we hiked on Fruska gora mountain and visited national park.
Fruska Gora Mountain is located in northern Serbia, close to the regional capital of Novi Sad. It offers a number of hiking routes.
All the routes are round, and are all marked. A hiker can either go eastward or westward on each route (eastward is the basic direction on the route).
Routes:
* The Route of Joy and Pleasure is the shortest and the easiest hiking route over the fields, through the forests and viewpoints; ranging from 300m to 500m above sea level; the route is 3,25km long
* The Apprentice Route; ranging from 300m to 500m above sea level; the route is 17km long
* The Mini Marathon; ranging from 300m to 500m above sea level; the route is 32km long
* The Half Marathon; ranging from 300m to 500m above sea level; a more serious route; the route is 57km long
* The Great Marathon; ranging from 300m to 500m above sea level; this is a real marathon; the route is 81km long
It is about 80 km lengthwise east to west, about 15 km north to south. The highest peak is Crveni Čot at 539 m.The slopes of the Fruška Gora are well suited for grapes - there are many wine-makers producing Traminer, Riesling and other wines in the region. Its fertility and beauty attracted people in the past and that same beauty still attracts people to this day. It has become known for the peaceful and rich life of its inhabitants and as a place where visitors can rest and enjoy the beautiful surroundings.
A large part of the area (25,525 square kilometres) has been a national park of Serbia since 1960.
There are also as many as sixteen Serbian Orthodox monasteries located on the Fruška Gora because of the hospitable natural environment. According to historical data, these monastic communities were historically recorded since the first decades of the 16th century. Legends, however, place their founding to the period between the 12th and 15th centuries.

It looks like spring has come to Serbia; you really capture the start of the season very well.
Scotland is much further behind.
I like the deatils of the catkins on the willow tree.
Tanja your commentary on the background to this is very good; I must visit

Hi Tanja,
there is nothing more beautiful in the world than spring! Once I have to visit this beautiful area (preferably in spring) ... because I like hiking a lot!
Your composition with the blooming trees is wonderful, the small bench is an eyecatcher. Furthermore, it´s great how the soft spring sun touches the ground.
Do you have mostly deciduous forests in Serbia?
btw: Have fun at school ;-))
