Photographer’s Note
hanboks are the traditional dress of korean people. although they're not worn daily anymore, it's still common to see people in hanboks for special events both public and private.
this particular day was a memorial day to commemorate the death of koreans who established the resistance against japanese colonisation of korea in 1910.
the children were walking in the streets with their family after participating in some celebratory events.
they really stood out from the crowd ... however, i still wanted to have fun by treating this shot in black and white (while leaving the kids in colour).
this technique is commonly known as 'selective desaturation' ... and when done well, looks good. :)

hey d
there's one thing i really like about this shot: the fact that no one in the shot is looking at the children. it's as if the children are invisible, even when brightly coloured to stand out. in comparison, everyone else is so boring and dull. fine detail and pp work. well done!

David, glad to see you around. Good use of the selective desaturation technique to focus the attention on the children. Maybe is just me, but somehow the composition of the image is directing all the attention to the guy coming forward and then the attention is moving towards the children.
Cheers,
Enrique

These 2 kids are great in full color - almost gives the effect of superimposing them on the dull or standard street scene. This is a fantastic use of post processing effects.
Nice work,
David L.
