Photographer’s Note

Brienzersee and its neighbour to the west Thunersee are surrounded by the amazingly beautiful high summits of the Bernese Oberland and the equally stunning lower Bernese Pre-Alps. Both these deep water lakes are at an elevation of around 550m. Separating the two lakes is the city of Interlaken. I shot this image while on my way back to Grindelwald after cycling up and down some of the local mountain passes…..very tiring but also very rewarding. :-)

Hi Spiros
A superb picture. Looking at the picture I first thought it was somewhere in Scandinavia. Surprise to me that it was taken in Switzerland. I love the different shades of the colors and the hills that get softer with the distance. Great Picture!

Excellent capture shot against the light, never an easy thing to do. Love those identical looking boats with their mast, beautiful blue mood.

A beautiful image thats calm and serene and so watery in colour and hues. The mountains hiding behind the mist and the shimmering sun on the water all add up to create a superb image. good overall composition. The pov and perspective are great. great management of lights.
