Photographer’s Note
Forum Romanum
I wanted to try something else today. So this is the second picture I post which is non-digital. The first one -also from Rome- can be found here: Elephant. It's a scanned picture.
The photo was taken in May 2002, when I was in Rome with my school.
This shot shows the famous Forum Romanum, the central area of ancient Rome. The Forum is situated between the Capitoline Hill, Palatine Hill and Esquiline Hill.
On this picture are visible, from the left to the right:
the Temple of Vespasian (Templum divi Vespasiani), Arch of Septimius Severus and the Temple of Saturn (Templum Saturni).
Hope you like this picture. Maybe I'll post more scanned pictures from my trip to Rome.

Hi Lars. Despite the obvious drop in image quality the beauty still comes through loud and clear. For not doing many scans I think you did a good job. I'd like to see more of the trip. tfs Lars!

Hola Lars.
Despite that it's a scanned shot it shows very good colors and details, good POV and composition, nice to see this place again, good memories. Well done. TFS.

Hi Lars
A very nice composition in this shot. Nice use of the columns to frame. Good colours and quality is not bad for a scan.
Well done
Best wishes

Hej Lars, history breathes everywhere in this image. Excellent composition, from a good vantage POV. The big cupula is very well placed in the back. I support you on these diferent works my friend. The quality is not bad at all. Keep them coming!
Enjoy the weekend,

Dag Lars,
Prettig weekend,
John.

Hello Lars.
Well, I don't know... honestly this isn't one of your top 310 best shots... I really can't believe that this is a good photo. It doesn't have natural colours, except for the sky, maybe, and it's partially overexposed, and sharpness i missing too. Sorry, but that's my honest opinion. However, the POV is good and so is the note. Apparently the criticers above see something that I don't..

Per

Hi Lars!
This is always a very interesting subject to a photo: nice colours and shadows; nice point of view; and good clarity.
TFS and best wishes,
Rosa

Hi Lars,
I like it, some because of the composition and beautiful colours, some because it is made in film, but mostly because you bring it out from the picture book to revaluate the memories and make confrontation with today's snap shots... Don't you think that time ago we did many wonderful photos, but we even didn't know it.
Have a nice weekend,
Tomi

Nice point of view, with plenty of things to see : the columns, the arch, the church in the background. This is also architecture, but rather different from your usual postings. Nice colors, perhaps possible increase in sharpness in my opinion (but I believe the digital has completly changed the benchmark in terms of sharpness).
All the best,
Emmanuel

Quite unexpected to find Roma in your gallery. I like this surprise and this classical roman atmosphere. It almost makes me forget the light overexposure.

Goed om eens af te wisselen en om ons hier die goede oude tijd in dubbele betekenis te tonen.

Hi Lars - I understand this is an oldie, so the quality can be excused, I would still decrease the brightness and increase the sharpness a little.

Bonsoir, mon ami Lars,

Très belle mise en valeur de ce patrimoine architectural. Un vrai régal pour le passionné d'architecture que je suis.
