Photographer’s Note
I took that shot inside the Jama Masjid (The Great Mosque) which is situated on the opposite side of the Red Fort in the Old Delhi.
It was early morning, the sun was still quite low, giving a natural warming up-filter. I was lucky that the Mosque was open and there was almost noone inside.
After I saw that picture on the screen of my laptop I decided to make a B+W out of it, but then a penny dropped and there was no other option but to show you my way of seing it.
I desaturated the picture gradually, to gain the effect of having it devide in the middle.
The goal was to show, as the title says, both sides of reality. A poor, but cute girl and the grey real-life.
I'm interested in your opinions, do you find it interesting, right or maybe a totally bad and disturbing composition?

Hi Michal,
I find the image kind of disturbing. I don't really like the way the image has been split up, my eyes seem to always focus on the BW portion of the image. Altough I totaly understand your message and the reason you presented the image in this way. Even though I don't really like it, I'm giving you 2 points for thinking out of the box.

The colors tell the story. Children's faces reflect the real face of our world and perhaps how bad it has become. Thanx for the shot and the beautiful compo.

Hi Michal,
I looked at your image several times, and with this effect, it's really intrigue. With smile on her face, I would tell that this girl is happy, but I can see some sadness in her eyes raised with your capture... So, for me, this is excellent picture, deeply emotional, it push you to think about it, and that's great!
With best wishes,
Mirko
