Photographer’s Note
The eastern garden & facade the Residence. Garden was designed in the English style by Johann Prokop Mayer in 1770. The residence itself was started in 1719 when Prince Johann Philipp Franz von Schonborn became the Bishop. The Prince Bishop commissioned Balthasar Neumann with the first plan. The whole city of Wuerzburg, including this palace, was severely damaged by Allied bombing during the last world war. At the time the city was referred to as the "grave of the Main" - Main being the river that runs through the city. The city had been meticulously restored to its former urban architecture and beauty.
Photographically the main facade of The Residence is more difficult to capture because the big square fronting the building. The square is now a huge public parking space cluttered with vehicles.

wonderful old building ... you have done a nice job compositionally using the architecture of the dome and the paths. Also, I like the way you have used the trees as framing. Especially considering your note this is wonderful ..
.. wish the garden was brighter .. but wonderful old castle and well captured.
