Tenerife-La Gomera Express ferry Photo

Photographer’s Note

This is an express ferry that connects Los Christianos on Tenerife with San Sebastian on La Gomera. It will take 270 cars and 970 passengers and do the crossing in half an hour at a speed of 42 knots - which is vey fast indeed on something that big. Passengers are not allowed outside during the crossing and the speed and force is sufficient to pull an army of waterskiers.
San Sebastian on La Gomera was the port from which Christopher Columbus took off in September 1492 in quest for a sea passage to India.
Maritime navigation has come a long way since.

Une photo qui ainsi presenter nous donne un effet comme si il allait nous percuter....
Les détailles sont superbes ici et le contraste de l'image est trés bon.

Yes - we do have those in Denmark too - but I never tried, but its a fast way of travelling over water.

How ever their seams to be some problems as well - First it a bit noisy and second the big shockwaves can sink smaller boats.

Good light and contrast + color in photo, good sharp and compoced, only thing, I would have clone the thing away in the bottom.

Hi Per, Very good close up / zoom of this very impressive vessel. The clarity and colours are good, but it is the close crop that gives it a wow factor. TFS. Murray.
