interesting take, richard,
you started up in a complete shadow but looking across the photo we find many details being completely lit in sunshine - quite a successful tones management;
you joint that guy on the carpet in the meditation or you just snaped this photo? i think it would be interesting to have a chat with the guy;

Hey Richard,
a good scene. Nicely elongated frame, the shoes are a fantastic way to end the frame there and balance the man.

Very nice daily-life scene, Richard. I like the low and rather close perspective on things, as well as the judicious choice of the panoramic cropping. The sandals in the LL corner are a great device to balance the content of the frame, and to enhance the storytelling. Looks okay in b&w.

Hello Richard, oh my, I know exactly where this shot was taken. I visited Muscat/Mutrah in late March/early April this year and escaped the heat a couple times a day at the wonderful juice bar just beyond that passageway. Your cropping works well here; it smartly fits in all the important elements of the shot - the diagonal of the wall behind him, the passageway, the passersby, and of course the man's shoes!

I'm taken by this picture, Richard.
By its meticulous composition.
It looks to me like a carefully composed theatrical scene just to be dismantle right after taking a shot.
Almost - too perfect to be true.
From one corner to another - nothing short of classical arrangement.
Have a great WE, R.G.

Hi Richard,
unusual POV, interesting scene and reportage in B&W. Good semi panoramic composition. Well done photo.

Hello Richard,
Une jolie tranche de vie. Tu bien fait de choisir le noir et blanc dans cette image ! J'aime bien le tapis sur lequel la personne est couché. Avec les pavés cela donne une jolie perspective.

Hi Richard. I like the fact that you seem to be invisible to the man on the mat and all the passers-by. Good to include his sandals in the composition. I suppose you converted this to B&W because the sky was blown out - always a good fallback! Cheers . . . David
PS: I am sure this is Mutrah (near the entrance to the souk) rather than Muscat proper.
