Photographer’s Note

This photo was taken in the same location as the previous one posted here on TE, yet from another POV (the other side of the Cathedral).

The monument in the foreground is a tribute brought to the Romanian soldiers who so bravely defended our country against numerous attacks of various enemies...

In the background there's the Orthodox Cathedral.
The construction of the Cathedral spanned over 1 decade - work done in 2 stages.
Fist stage - (1923-1926) - the main part of the building was finished (bricks over a concrete skeleton), including 4 towers and 18 columns.
Later there were brought 4 bells from Hungary, the largest of them weighting nearly 2 tons.
Second stage - (1928-1933) - The painting of this edifice was performed by Anastasie Demian and Catul Bogdan, professors at the Art Academy.
