I live in Normandy and it is a wet area (it is not by chance which the grass is so green there ;o)).
Often, the umbrellas are open to be protected from the rain.
In Johannesbourg, here in Soweto, umbrellas are open to be protected from the sun...
there are pretty spots of colors in the streets

Unied Umbrellas of Benetton:) A fine composition with not so obvious (for a European like me) sight - umbrellas protecting from the sun.
