Photographers Note
The very same day as my two early posts, I reached the top of the highest hill of the Pćo de Aēścar. There I shot this two pictures that I stiched together in PS. Not so perfect because the limit within the photos can be seen, but I did my best.
According to Bruno Camolez's picture of Rio de Janeiro from the Corcovado, I can give some explanations.
Those many buildings behind that hill in front of the left side are Leme and Copacabana mostly Copacabana. Just in front of the man with the cap is the beach of my yesterday's post from another angle. Even the 'small' two-storey house with the red roof can be seen here. The other 4-storey building with red roof just right to it is the cable car station where the cable cars leave towards the intermediate station of the lower of the two hills of the Pćo.
To the left, in front of that light reflectors (I guess) but in the other hill is an hexagonal structure. That is the cable car station where the cable cars leave and arrive to and from the higest hill where I took the picture.
Extreme left: that bay with many yatchs and boats is Botafogo beach.
And last but not least. That cross-like figure in the foreground against the bright sky to the left is the Cristo on top of the Corcovado.
Two pictures put together in PS. auto levels, adjusted curves and color balance of the left picture to match those of the right one, a little contrast and brightness. Increased saturation 5%, reduced cyan and blue saturation some 10%. Unsharp masking and rotated 3.5° CCW.
Note: Pćo de Aēścar are the two hills in the top center of this picture.

I really like this view. The platform just at the bottom right gives a nice perspective of your high location and it's almost like a floating platform. The cables going down make a nice lead across the panorama to the progressively shorter hills. And I really like how the city fills all the spaces between the hills like a sea. And finally the haze creates a really broad feel. It makes a lot of depth and distance. It really is quite a feel. It's very impressive. Nicely done.

What a great postcard photo, Jurgen. Besides all the violence that's taking course in Rio, this place is magnificent. Great shot! Great job.

Hello Jurgen,
A beautiful panoramic view of Rio. I think we were in almost the exact same spot to take our pictures. I like your composition. Mine does not include the platform, the cable car, or the people giving perspective to the picture. Your picture is well done. Thank you for critiquing mine.
Kind regards,
Betty
