Photographer’s Note
Piz Corvatsch(3450m.) reflected in Silvaplana lake, the lake elevation is around 1800m. The larches were at peak autumn colour, I did not manipulate their color, they were incredible intense orange. As far as I know these are the only type of conifers which change color in autumn, mid morning light, the promontory along the horizon was in the shadow of the mountains until shortly before this photo was taken. I also darkened the snow which was overexposed, and the sky which was less so. I was more satisfied with this version with the horizon in the middle than those that emphasized the sky or the water.

Hello Tan,
This is a beautiful image. The colors are spectacular, the setting very dramatic (and I like the small village peeking through a break in the trees) and the reflections on the lake well executed. To my eye, the horizon does not seem to be in the middle but slightly above; perhaps a trick of the mind. In any event, it looks just fine to me! Well done.

Hi Tan,
Very beuatifull and balanced composition, I didn't see the other but I guess you did the right choice once both sky and water reflection are equally interesting. The reflection is amazing as so are the autumns colors. Bravo!

A very pretty shot. One comment though, is that the trees seem very soft, almost out of focus. My guess is you focussed on the mountains, right? A better option would have been to focus on the trees, and choose a sufficiently small aperture to keep the mountains sharp too. Not sure if f/5.6 would have been small enough, I normally go for f/8. If necessary choose a higher ISO value to keep your shutter speed reasonable.
A beautiful composition though so 2 points from me.

Very nice composition and colors. The problem I have with this kind of shot is getting the right exposure for the mountain & sky without getting the foreground seriously underexposed. The use of NeatImage tends to soften the foreground in the adjusted shadow areas.

Hi Tan,
No doubt this color rocks and gives significant visual impact to your photo, the mountains surroundings and the lovely reflection complete the scene, the 50/50 divide is not a bad point here I think.

Great scene! I like the reflection very much, with the water not quite still, so there are small ripples giving this a kind of shimmer. The color combination is good too, with the orange trees contrasting well with the cool blue water and sky. Great work!

A stunning shot Tan. Colours, reflections, composition, DOF - they're all perfect here. Sometimes the 'rule of thirds' is best ignored, and this is a great example of why - because I like the symmetry provided by the reflection here.

Hi Tan,
Very nice POV! The reflection is just great!
I wonder if it would have been been cutting a part on the left side? Probably not finaly because it would have unbalanced the whole thing!
I did not know that some conifers could change colors.
Thanks!

Hi Tan,
I've been neglecting your gallery lately (I don't have as much time for TE as I used to) so I caught up this morning and found this wonderful shot from Switzerland. It looks like you were there just at the right time to get those beuatiful autumn colors and I like the way the trees are huddled together in small groups. Great light and perfect reflections on the lake's surface too.
Have a nice day.

Hi Tan,
I love this one. Very nice composed, three bunches of trees on the other side of this water. Their reflections in the water are very nice, aswell as the reflection of the mountainous landscape. The sharpness is very good, even in the back is strong and crisp. The horizon in the middle seems fine here, almost symmetrical the upper and lower part. Lovely autumn colours on the trees, you were there at the right time.
Very Nice work. Thanks for sharing.

Hi Tan,
When critiquing a photo it's expected that the person offering the critique can suggest possible improvements. With this image, you've made that totally impossible. To my way of thinking, it's absolutely perfect and is the sort of image I'd expect to find in some high quality publication. To me, the most important things are that I find it an eye-catching, attractive, and beautifully tranquil image. For that reason, I've added it to my favourites. I'm truly impressed.
Hugs,

What a lovely picture, Tan! A picturesque landscape with such a perfect lighting conditions! A very impressive and tranquil picture, one that utters tranquility and harmony, a connection with nature! The water element combined with the massif at the back create a highly contrastic composition: the high and the low, the fluid against the solid - and in the middle, life: trees, buildings, (people)...
A stunning nature photograph - makes you want to live there!

This autumn scene is so nice and the way you managed it to get it in your camera really pleases me!
