Hello there and what a funny picture. It could also be in Zurich, everybody busy with short messages, communication with no end, day and night. Our world all connected ... and you show it so well. All the best from Switzerland ... via internet ... Barbara.

Your sense of humour again Maciej? Not only they have their phones (but do they communicate??), but there is that nice hat! Yes, I know, Halloween party, I'll guess. Still, I think it add to this photo. Not so fan of the blurred woman in the foreground though. Maybe if she was less centered. Still, like this photo a lot. You do have talent to show us the streets of Cardiff. Always a treat for us. Aaaaaah! That hat! ;)

i was just mentioning in a previous critique my quest for the "ideal people arrangement" in a photo, of which you're definitely one of the masters on this site... very hard to compose an image well and then stay invisible while you click (of course here they were quite focused on their phones).. wonder if you usually shoot "on the fly" or compose your background first and wait for some interesting elements to enter the frame... i actually like the slight "centeredness".. makes it more casual, beleivable, less set up..
you have quite a cardiff portfolio by now, you planning an exhibition or have anything published?

I still remember when you were stuck in Cardiff with nothing to shoot because you weren't able to "see" :)))
It was about maybe one year ago, maybe less... now you are doing serious stuff in those streets! I saw your article about the night in Cardiff... really nice!

Looks like you have gotten over India Maciej, or over Asia actually, and found your stride in Cardiff. I remember you kept talking about going to India as much as you could, as if that was your niche. But since Cardiff is your home it should be your primary location. And your pictures from that place are getting better and better. The composition here is I think your best from Cardiff. Simple, to the point action, uncluttered frame and total straightforwardness. What a take on the rule of thirds.

Looks like it's past 4AM, according to the sign on the left handside door!!
Incredible display of characters, the first girl and the third, the one with the hat, are perfectly snapped, even with the second missing, this shot would have been worthy.
What for me really makes it, is the delightful arm move of the blurry girl, which implicates her more into the image cinematics than a simple blurry passerby.
Something one should think about when including the usual blurry passerby foreground : there should be something anchoring him to the background, not just a silhouette...
I don't think of anything that can improve it... very close to putting it in my favs, just that I'm sparing...

This is just excellent, Maciej, street shooting elevated to art, and no return. Once again it only confirms me in my belief that your welsh work is your best, and your best, my man, is very good indeed...

Weird! Amazing! Kafkaesque! The creative use of DoF only goes to increase the sense of excitement and eeriness. The division of the frame into two discrete boxes is masterly with the blurred woman as the transition between the two. It is the perfect Halloween picture.

The (fortuitous?) introduction of the girl in the foreground to your original composition strengthens it.
3 is better than 2 if you ask me ;)

yes, this is fabulous, one of your better shots in recent times, has the element of grotesque seriousness to the situation, touches on the social issues, great graphism, message, humour.
Love it.

Maciej,
No doubt you shooted cinemic shot.
Beautiful graphical display & linking of charcters to each other. Well controlled light & total impressive work.
Also lot of motions with few emotions..
This is Attractive..but still need more emotions...

Hahaha, and I thought this series couldn't get any better! And the Halloween touch to boot! Excellent Maciek; what else can I add you don't really need to hear it from me.

Very good find, Maciek - nice rhythm to the scene with the 3 girls, all dressed-up in different ways for the night out. Good moment with the one in front holding the left hand on the blond hair, and a fun detail to also have the "no entry after 4AM" sign at the left included. Great exposure to render the ambience, and spotless quality at 1600. It seems to me that the times where you felt uninspired what to shoot in Cardiff are gone for good, nice work.

really nice. I love it. the colors are perfect and the characters are well placed and functioning as a whole really well.
on the whole it does not paint a positive scene of the post-party scene. The emotions of these girls are pretty strong. I really like it. Many conversations could take place on this idea.
thanks

Yeh this is ace Maciej,
I can see your influences here, very Parresque. I'll use that again, Parresque, see, sounds good. Seriously though this Cardiff work is fantstic. To me it's the British as we know them but to the rest of TE they must be wondering what the hell is going on here. But you also see it from a foreigners eyes which is good. One other thing, there seems to be a lot of Polish called Maciej living in Cardiff or is it me?
Nice work Maciej,
Regards
Mark.
