Photographer’s Note
Taken from a recent trip up to Gangwando which unfirtunatly did not yield very good results, even going by Ken Rockwell's one good shot a day method!
I was on a beach somewhere along the coast and while waiting for the sun to go down, some fishermen caught my attention and didn't seem to mind me taking photos of them. They even said goodbye after I left. I'd recntly bought a 80-200mm 2.8 lens and the thing is just perfect!
In case you're wondering, the sunset pics didn't come out very well. This was a simple black and white conversion in Photoshop and a little playing around with levels and sharpening.

Hi Will, it's some time since I stopped by your gallery - my mistake. Excellent use of differential focus with your new zoom lens. And a nice tonal range. Good idea to let the sky behind the guy in the foreground wash out. I sympathise with your frustration too. I see people like Furachan upload great shots every day - I'm happy if I can upload something that's not laughable every week. Best wishes Stephen

Hi Will
Wonderful use of a shallow dof with good fg sharpness. I like the symmetry of the 2 fisherman & marvbellous graphism & tonal range. Tfs!

Hi Will. I like this one quite a lot. I really like the symmetry (technically not right, but I hope you know what I mean) of the two fishermen. I wouldn't mind more room on the left to allow for more of the poles in the shot, but maybe there was something distracting over there. A good exposure against a tough sky I think, so well done in that regards. A very nice and also fitting conversion to b&w too. Nice shot

Hey Will
Nice comp and good in b&w. Good repetition and dof. Well done. How do you like the 80-200 2.8? Did you play around with the 70-200vr 2.8 while you were shopping?

Nice repetition here. Looks like a litte man and a giant enjoying themselves by the sea.
