Photographer’s Note
From the Grand Mosque at Semarang, Central Java
the building is just new and will be inaugurated next year, but people already start using it.
Tomorrow the moslems may start ramadhan. Indonesia is one of country whose more then 80% citizens are moslems. For us ramadhan and the end of ramadhan (eid fitr) is a big celebration, mostly celebrated even bigger then they celebrate Haj (unlike other moslem countries). The Indonesians living outside their villages, their cities, countries often try as far as possible to go back home and celebrate with families. been more then 4 years, I can't do that :(
Happy ramadhan, to those celebrate
May peace to all
When I was there, I saw these two people, and wanted to put them in the frame :), they didn't know, they just curious what I wanted to take picture at, so both they looked at the mosque, then 'click' :)

Hi cessy
Wish I'd stopped here now. I went from Salitiga to Amboroughwa (spelling?) & caught a bus straight through to Tegal & on to Bandung. A fantastic architectural shot. Tfs!

Well done... I like the colours and perspective of your shot... maybe slightly too dark (people silhouettes)

Bonjour Karina,
Très joli cadrage sur cette scène ! J'aime beaucoup l'architecture et ses tons pastels, le ciel gris et les deux personnes dans le coin à gauche !
Amicalement,
Stéphanie.

Hi Karina. Interesting composition with people giving the scale of buildings. Detailed note, too. Well done, indeed. Regards.

Hi Cessy, and happy Ramadan. Beautiful photo of this remarkable place. The colorful couple provides a very welcome compositional balance to the architectural elements with the curving piece in the right portion of the frame. Impressive lighting and very good contrasts making the scene shine in the best of ways.

Hi cessy, this half circular structure with pillars give lots of depth to your picture. It is almost as if i was able to look at it in 3D. It is also so sharp that it looks hyperealistic in a way. very good shot. Thanks.

Bonsoir,
une très belle composition qui bénéficie de belles couleurs et d'une profondeur remarquable : Le ciel est superbe et apporte beaucoup de relief à cette architecture. Bien vu,

Hi Cessy,
A really great shot from a beautiful point of view. I love the pale colours as well as the lighting. The two persons looking at the back work perfectly inside your composition. Splendid work!

This is not a photo. This is a drawing! It is quite obvious! Or maybe a computer drawing. Like the one we see in computer games. Look at the colors! Look at the graphical lines and curves and dramatic sky. But wait a minute... What those two characters are doing there? What? Real people? Truly? Human beings with flesh and bones? ...
One word: amazing!
(Well Cessy, it's better than "wow!", don't you think so? ;D )

I was born in Semarang Mbak Cessy, but I haven't got chance to visit this place. It is also about 30 km only from my parents house in Demak. When you travel to Kudus from Semarang you would easily find it along the way. Thanks for sharing

Hizbullah
