Photographer’s Note

Another shot from my holiday in Mallorca and another sunrise shot. This is deffinitely one of my favourite times for photography due to the great lighting and the peace and quiet.

This is a picture of one of the many sun shades which can be found on Spanish beaches (and indeed many other countries). It was taken at 6:40am before the beach was full of sun worshipers.

For the shot, I used a tripod to keep the camera steady and a ND grad filter to balance exposure between the bright sun and the land.

Very romantic shot. Good time of day to get up and take photos. The detail is remarkable and the colours lovely. The grad has created an unusual effect in the cloudless sky. Nice one Paul

Nice one, could serve as an example of 'how to use graduate filters', even though I find the very foreground a wee bit to bright.

I love this part of Mallorca, but Alcudia some times is quite hard for me due to the overturistic situation. Nontheless you have given such a poetry to the beach that I would like to be there inmediately (hopefully Pollença in september). Take care Paul.

An excellent shot here. I love the warm sunlight and the sharpness of focus on the sun. The silence, lighting and peace are all conveyed in this shot. The framing is great too. Well done.

You got so many things going for you here, the superb sunrise, the sun shades, and the jetty in silhoutte. Each one of them would have made a perfect setting. Did you get a lone shot of that pier? It seems long and inviting.
