This picture was taken inside the house of Crocodile Harry in Coober Pedy (see previous pictures),South Australia. the house was built under a rock mountain so on the top of his house there is a gardening (picture to come soon) and every piece of metal is recuperated for the house. this was the emergency exit to the surface with a car truck to cover the hole on the surface. So when you climb the rope, or pull the rope to get some light inside the house underneath earth, you also open the trunk of a car on the surface (weird concept, but interesting to see!). This exact same spot was also used in the movie "Mad Max : beyound Thunderdome" when a small kid escape a prison underneath earth he get out in this exact same hole (for those who have seen this old movie)to appear in a car cimetary (now is gardening).. living underneath earth keep peoples cool during day and because there is almost no electricity in those places, you need to be ingenious to find way to light up your house ;-)
