Photographer’s Note
We spent an entire day at Sagaing, on the other side of the big river respect Mandalay.
A wonderful city with fantastic forest everywhere and hundreds of temples, pagodas, stupas, monastries, and thousands of monks, red ones, orange ones...and women monks with pink clothes.

Hi Paolo.
A pity it was scanned. I like how the pink is contrasted with the rest of the photo.

Buongiorno Paolo,
Bellissimo! I really like this fascinating image with singular colours. The perspective created by the right wall leads directly to your subjects. The way they dress with these pink clothing and umbrellas stand out from the scene.
Great composition and very special ambience.
Well done!

Ciao Paolo,
LOL, welcome to the club of the rare monk entries ;-)
Indeed not exactly a color I woud associate with monks, but at least from a photographic point of view it allows them to stand out well, love the umbrellas as well !
Buona giornata,

Hi Paolo.
I've seen orange a lot, red a lot, a blue from Jean-Yves, now a rare pink from you. Great photo, somewhat blurred, which I think comes from the scanner.
take care, Aleks

Hi Paolo,
good composition. It's too bad the expression of the ladies is hard to see because of the light, but the pose and scene are very strong.
Thanks and regards, Gerrit

Ciao Paolo, Nice to see you posting shots from Myanmar again. It's amazing really how present the monks are but the female counterparts are very differently looked upon; not as approachable either. It's the superb composition here that makes the scene and that sandy look and colours give it a colonial touch. Nice pp and great shot! Sabine

A beautiful Burmese shot, Paolo. Although because of the scanner it is slightly soft, it doesn't take away for me the enjoyment over the composition, the mood, and of course these gorgeous colours. There is something very simple and understated in it to me, which draws me close and makes me appreciate it even more. A beautiful shot to start my day with!

a very nice capture Paolo,
the composition is great, the perspective is good and the point of view is very nice, a well taken shot. I made a WS for you to give the monks more face, I hope you like it.

Hi Paolo,
For a scanning picture is this excellent, good colours and nice composition, maybe little bit cropped at the above part for a better composition.
Best regards,

Ciao Paolo,
Nice scene you have captured here. The way the two nuns are walking with their umbrella looks so peaceful. Nice to see nuns in their lovely pink dress - something we don't see very much here on TE.

Hi Paolo
I like the atmosphere you have captured in this shot. Great detail and nice pov. The use of the two walls to lead into the composition works excellently, and the interplay of the two monks is a natural catch. Good work

THough it is a scanned image, the quality of the image is there, would love to see the original. I really like the way the walls follow the perspective of the image to find the two monks in pink on a path no too travelled. TFS

Hello Paolo,
Belle composition !
J’aime beaucoup ces teintes verdâtres !
Ca donne un côté intemporel, renforcé bien entendu pas les tenues traditionnelles des protagonistes !
Super travail

Hi Paolo - so cute, the pink robes stand out nicely in the middle of the subtly coloured surroundings, I wish they were closer though.

Lovely shot, Paolo, green and pale pink, and those parasols that slow everything down over there. Yes the pale pink nuns of Burma, maybe not so rare ;o)
Beautiful scene with that strong nostalgic "pull" that many of your SE pics have.
Bravo,
Francis

Again, a dusky, story-like, reality unravelling in front of the eyes, with leisurely pace which enhances the feel - Like a good old wine.
Your art of scanning is rarity. In modern digital world, I am not sure if any one would spend time in wetting the scans in such relaxed & perfect way, like the good old days of the Film.
Thanks,
Prem.
