Photographer’s Note
He kept sitting and reading for all the time I hung around in the Medina's streets of Essaouira. It took hours. He showed emotions on his face. Browsing the letter from top down and again from bottom up. A letter from someone loved, perhaps from his son, he was proud of and whom he has not seen for a while. What did he write ? Did he write, he was happy and his wife and kids were looking to come to see their grandpa soon ? Did he write he works abroad and it will take a while to meet him again ? Or did he write he finally met friends who opened his eyes and he decided to blow himself in a suicide bombing ? But it was a letter from his son, whom he loved so much.

Hi Michael. This is a beautiful, classic portait. Super use of depth of field to put attention on the man and his letter.

Hi Michael
A wonderful personal portrait of this old guy concentrating on reading this letter.
very emotional and a good choice of B+W, it makes it look more like a documentary shot.
Regards
Harry
