Photographer’s Note
This neighborhood store is in the sleepy village at the banks of Rio Tapajos. There are restaurants in the village square but this is the only neighborhood store. It sells almost all the everyday needs of the village from junk foods to toothpaste, from sandals to hair dye, from cigarettes to pet foods, cellular phones to electrical fixtures, from soft to hard drinks and many more. I took the picture because the displays and banners are colorful against the old unpainted walls of the store.
Also look at my postings in TrekLens Faces & Images of the Amazon River.

Hi Andre, what a lovely collection! Pet food, hawaiiana shoes, ice-cream, sim cards for cellphones and even recycling bins... What more do you need to stay alive, hehe ;-) And everything in splashy colours. This pictures makes me smile!
