Photographer’s Note
Carpe Diem, 'pick the day', was the motto during the renaissance after the dark and somber middle ages when they had the motto Memento Mori, 'remember that you will die'.
Carpe Diem is exactly what Isabel an I are doing at the moment, spending a lovely day in Leicester with Richard, and spend the day tomorrow with Kev.
After the TE-meet in Rotterdam is was obvious that I experience friendship from people of TE, and that gives me the shivers every now and then. TE is a great site
The category I chose was this one is daily life, but it looks more like daily dead

I can not really understand what is worth to be noticed in those blue, cutten doors with white paper on? Cemetery itself looks much more interesting but I fell that final effect would be much stronger without those blue sth.

Yo Rinho, Nice capture with nicely saturated colours and well conmposed too. It's a curious way of stating that you're having fun and I can relate to Francine's words, but hehe I love paradoxes, so well done ;-))
Have fun with Kev 2morrow!

Good treatment of this place that I see so often, that I don't notice it. The blue door really stands out in the compo here, esxpecaiily since you've cropped out the sky.

Hi Rinie. The blue door to heaven or a reminder that colour, life is all around, and once one's eyes are closed in eternal sleep...Striking message and composition. Regards, Klaudio

Hi Rinie,
This is a nice photo with great atmosphere and distinct "old England" style. I especially like the blue door that makes a fine parallel to the grey thumbstones. Very well seen and done.
Thanks,
Marek

the colors are striking Rinie! this blue and this green are so contrasty with the darker stones! Maybe an element of hope between those black marks of death and fate? ;-) I agree with this motto anyway, for life and all we have, can be lost in a split of a second at any time. so enjoy every minute of life and do not postpone things when you have a chance to tell your loved ones how important they are to you;-)

A relaxing picture and the colorcontrast is well used. I think you can crop some on the sides, perhaps.

Sfeervolle foto maar ook 'n grappige note.
Geen idee waar je nu bent Rinie... Parijs? Maar "Pluk de dag" zeker! Geniet! :o)))
Wij zijn aan het einde van de maand weg, richting noord, maar ik zal je wat langer schrijven vòòr die tijd.
Heel veel groetjes - Viviane

Hi Rinie
Indeed "Carpe Diem" - I exprerienced dead near me this year and can fully relate to this words.
Great to see this shot from the UK and hear you having a good time there. The blue door gives a fine break in the image together with the green grass.
Good weekend

Bonjour Rinie,
J'aime bien la composition de votre photo, avec cette porte cachée par la pierre tombale. très belle netteté.

This is a beauty. Great visual impact of the blue in the middle... The composition is very good with even lighting. I just wish the stone on the left edge was sharper but that's a depth-of-field limitation. Well done.
