Photographer’s Note
The Dome of the Rock sits atop the Temple Mount in Jerusalem. The fact that the location is sacred to two religions has been central to too much conflict in the Middle East. But on this day, it is merely the location of a football (soccer) game.

Bonjour Ken

Beau travail!

Great composition making a daily aspect of life, such as soccer, into something meaningful. Actually, soccer is quite meaningful and soon the world cup is starting in Germany. Jerusalem could be a quite interesting place to have such an event to demonstrate everyone how diversity can live and compete together without any violence. It only requires a whistle, yellow and red card, but no bombs, machine guns, etc.
Why is the picture so small?

Ken,
This is great! I love how you have fused one of the most sacred places in the world, with the most popular sport in the world. Football fans follow there teams with almost a religious fervor. The composition is great.
Regards,
Ryan
P.S. I make my vertical shots only 600 pixels also, for the same reason.

Hi Ken, I had a look at your Jerusalem photos and found them impressive. This one and The Coin Counter are my favourites. This is an unusual perspective of the Dome of the Rock. By including the football game you've highlighted another more homely side of the Dome, as just part of the neighborhood to the locals. Interesting!

Hey Ken,
This is an oldy one, buy I like it alot; The focal length works here very nicely to converge the people and the architecture of such a symbol in the muslim world. Good framing wit the trees!
