Photographer’s Note
This was taken on the West side of the two lakes in Tavanbogd National Park, in Mongolia. There wasn't a bridge crossing this river, so we had to take our chances driving through it. We stopped before we crossed to make some crude adjustments to make sure that the jeep didn't drown in mid-river. You can read about it in my other photo here.
This was quite a scary moment for me on my trip, as it was in the middle of nowhere (no, seriously!), it was just my driver and I, and of course the river was deeper than we had thought. Right after I took this photo, the water came right up to the window. Luckily, we made it out OK.
I could have tried to get rid of all the dirt and reflections in Photoshop, but then that would take away from the atmosphere (and take a long time!).
