Photographer’s Note

Guanajuato is a UNESCO world heritage site. It’s a university town a little bit north of Mexico City. It is nested in the middle of some very steep hills.

As with every town in Mexico, most of the houses are painted with bright and varied colours. The setting of this town, along with its colours makes it look like the houses are note real, as if they were candys or made out of Lego, each house a Lego brick.

In some streets, it is as if every new house owner looks at the rest of the street and thinks: “Let me see which colour is still missing, so I can choose the colour for my house”.

You can see a previous post in http://www.trekearth.com/gallery/photo281721.htm

and a panoramic view of the whole town, posted by Fred LION,

---------------------------------------------------

This is a scanned image from the negative and I have sturated the colours to give a more real look of this amazing place. I think these pastel colours work better for this image, but I will add another one in WS, with less saturation and more sharpness.
I'm not happy with the overexposed upper part and a blue sky would be much nicer to contrast with all these colours, but I still wanted to show this image.
